Introduction

Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (DPU), Pune, sponsored by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Society, Pune, was declared as “Deemed-to-be-University” under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 in 2003. From a humble beginning with one constituent unit i.e. Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pune; DPU over the last 16 years has grown exponentially with addition of eight more constituent units under its ambit.

The admission process for undergraduate courses at DPU is as follows:

Fill out the application form available on the DPU website.
Submit the application form along with the required documents.
Appear for the entrance exam.
Wait for the results of the entrance exam.
Participate in the counselling round.
Secure admission to DPU.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for admission to undergraduate courses at Dr . D . Y . Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune vary depending on the course. For most courses, the minimum eligibility criteria is a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for reserved category.

Fees

The admission fee for PG courses at DPU is INR 1000 for all category candidates.

NOTICE: The fees for postgraduate courses at DPU vary depending on the course. The fees can-not be paid in installments.

What is the admission procedure for Indian students?

From February onwards, the admission forms are available. The admission advertisements are released in the National and Regional Newspapers, where all the admission details are given. Students can avail the form by sending the requisite form fees by demand draft to The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune or paying the same in cash personally at the Vidyapeeth Office. One can send the form duly filled in along with requisite test fees by the Prescribed Date given in the Admission Notice. All admissions are done through Entrance Tests conducted by the Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune.

On whose name the payments are to be made?

The payments are not accepted by cheque / money order. The fees payable to the Vidyapeeth should be made by demand draft drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of “The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune” payable at Pune. The fees payable to the Colleges/Institutes should be drawn in their respective names.

What is the medium of instruction?

The medium of instruction in colleges/institutes is mainly English. The local language, Marathi, is especially taught to Medical and Dental students, so that it becomes easier for them to interact with OPD patients.
